Roseau, Dominica: Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, posted details on his energising hike around the lovely Fresh Water Lake on his official Facebook page.
He wrote, “My Saturday morning was well spent on an invigorating hike around the beautiful Fresh Water Lake”. As seen in the pictures shared by the Dominican prime Minister, he went to the top of the hill by walking and shared the breathtaking view from the hill.
Minister Skerrit urged the residents of Dominica to engage in physical activity to stay fit and healthy, improve overall well-being and fight chronic non-communicable diseases.
He advised Dominican citizens to exercise regularly to maintain good health, enhance general wellness, and combat chronic non-communicable diseases.
He claims that a person can maintain their fitness and health by adopting specific steps. These include exercising regularly, eating healthy foods, managing stress, and getting enough sleep.
Prime Minister Skerrit posted several images of the freshwater lake and its surroundings on his social media account after going on a morning walk. After reaching the top of the hill, he displayed a breathtaking view of the freshwater lake.
As seen in the pictures, the view from above was energising and pleasant, with fog covering the entire lake. PM Skerrit advised Dominicans to walk around the freshwater lake and take the breathtaking scenery from the hilltop.
He remarked that it benefits health and that a person can avoid serious health problems, including obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, and respiratory disorders.
The Dominican Prime Minister added that going on two weekly hikes can help enhance balance and develop stronger muscles, notably lower ones.
Walking beside a freshwater lake while enjoying the scenery is enjoyable and beneficial to one’s mental health. Minister Skerrit says hiking outdoors can help people unwind, feel less mentally taxed, and think more creatively.
Additionally, exercising outside has numerous benefits, including reducing anxiety, depression, anger, and tension. PM Skerrit wished everyone health and happiness and encouraged them to go around the freshwater lake and exercise regularly.
