Roseau, Dominica: Melissa Poponne Skerrit, Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development, made a special announcement for the city’s sports enthusiasts interested in enhancing their skills in Tennis.

She invited kids and sports fans throughout Roseau and the island to sign up for free tennis instruction and coaching. The registration will begin at the Roseau Constituency office, or the individual can call 440-4042 for further information.

Children particularly interested in learning sports will benefit significantly from the Tennis courses, which will begin on April 26, 2023, at Stadium Forecourt.

Minister of housing shared information about the tennis classes on her official Facebook account. She wrote, “Children of the city, let’s have fun in the sun. Register today to secure your spot!! Learn from a professional and have some fun! Parents call asap. Only limited seats are available”.

She clarified that no one will pay anything for the entire course. Tennis sessions will start on April 26, 2023. Minister Melissa Skerrit announced that the learning sessions would be held at the Stadium Forecourt on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM and on Saturdays at 10 AM.

According to the release, children between the ages of 7 and 15 would be eligible for benefits under this government programme. The children participating in this learning session will also benefit because Coach Andrew Carter, a national lawn tennis player of Dominica, who will teach them firsthand.

Melissa Skerrit also said that it would be fine if the kids didn’t have the tennis racket or other necessary teaching accessories. Every child interested in tennis will receive high-quality gear and t-shirts from the academy.

The Dominican government is particularly concerned with the growth of young people. The children’s park in Roseau was opened on April 9 during Easter, and now Melissa Skerrit came up with a new plan to provide kids with a free tennis academy.

The academy will enhance their abilities and skills while encouraging students to engage in physical activities that will nourish their abilities.
