Roseau, Dominica: Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, paid tribute to Alwin Anthony Bully, a Dominican Cultural administrator, writer, actor and playwright who designed the national flag of Dominica. He passed away on March 23, 2023.

While paying tribute to Dominican National hero Alwin Anthony Bully, Minister Skerrit took his social media and wrote, “As we say goodbye to Dr Alwin Bully, who was laid to rest following a beautiful send-off ceremony this morning, enjoy this lovely tribute to the Cultural Icon by Carlyn XP. His memory will live on.

PM Skerrit noted that the tribute ceremony was performed yesterday in which numerous people, politicians and other influential personalities participated.

As per Wikipedia, Alwin Anthony Bully was born on November 3, 1948, in Roseau, Dominic. He was renowned for designing the national flag of the Commonwealth of Dominica. His talent was not limited to designing; he was a cultural administrator, playwright, actor, artist, and magnificent designer.

Alwin received the Sisserou Award of Honor, the second-highest honour bestowed on a citizen of the Dominican Republic. Dominica’s Department of Culture was founded by Alwin, who also served as its first director.

Alwin Bully has significantly contributed to arts and culture, which later had a tremendous impact on the education and communication sector.
