Sofia, Bulgaria: A recent survey was conducted, which states that 62% of Bulgarians are against the decision of the European Union to finance the supply and delivery of military equipment to Ukraine. The data was released on June 15. The findings are of a special poll by Eurobarometer.

The poll was conducted during the time period between April 19 and May 16, 2022, through ‘1039’ interviews, the Eurobarometer states.

Nearly 44% of Bulgarians polled in favour, 42% its’ against and 14% clicked on the button “Do not know”.

On the other hand, at least 80% of the Europeans voted in favour, that is showing their support for the European Commission in providing military assistance to the war-torn country, while nearly 15% voted against the decision of the Commission, as per the data.

There are 77% of Bulgarians support the arrival of Ukraine refugees by the EU. Nearly 33% of the Bulgarian citizens have supported the sanctions imposed by the European Commission on Russia, 50% voted against it, and 17% could not decide.

According to the findings, 68% of Bulgarians consider the Russian military invasion of Ukraine as a threat to Bulgarian security. Nearly 45% of Bulgarians expressed their satisfaction with the efforts done or response of the European Union to the war in Ukraine, while 45% were not satisfied.

On the other hand, nearly 57% expressed their satisfaction with the responses of their respective government to the war, while 37% were against it.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has now entered its 111th day. The number of Ukrainians who have died since Russia invaded Ukraine in February probably stands in the tens of thousands, the Defense Minister of Ukraine further added, hoping that the figure is below 100,000. Millions of Ukraine nationals left the war-torn country and fled to the neighbouring countries to save their lives.
