Bulgaria along with other EU members condemns cyber attacks on Ukraine

European Union and its member states strongly condemned the cyber attacks being held by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, highlighting that it is not only a threat to the war-hit country but also puts the security of European citizens at risk. 

Bulgaria, the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iceland and Australia are also among the countries that stand against Russian cyberattacks and military invasions.   

A total of 76 days have been completed since the Russian military invaded Ukraine. The war between Russia-Ukraine is directly or indirectly impacting the whole European region. 

Recent updates on the Russia-Ukraine war –  

The Defence Minister of the United Kingdom recently updated on the war and stated that Russian military forces are withdrawing from the Kharkiv region of the country. He added that this clearly depicts the incapability of the Russian forces. 

Moscow recently imposed sanctions on the owner of the Polish part of the Yamal pipeline carrying Russian gas to the whole region of Europe. 

Following these gas sanctions by Russian Federation, the prices of fuels have risen in many European states. 

On the other hand, as per the recent statement issued by Russia, its forces have hit two ammunition depots in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region. 

As per the Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, the S-300 air defence missile system of Ukraine has been destroyed by the Russian forces in the Kharkiv region. 

A drone has also been eliminated by Russia near the snake island, according to the statement of Russian forces. 

To date, more than 5.9 million Ukraine refugees have left the war land and fled to other countries since the beginning of the Russian invasion – February 24, 2022. The UNHCR, along with WHO since then, has been making continuous support to Ukrainian nationals. 

The regional department of UNHCR asserted, “We have reached over 700,000 people inside Ukraine with critical aid such as cash, shelter materials, food, legal counselling & psychosocial support. The generosity of individual & private donors helps us to continue providing critical aid to people in need across the country”.
