Sofia, Bulgaria: British package holiday provider and tour operator – Jet2holidays has postponed the beginning of its “2022 Bulgaria Programme” for the summer season from a few of the United Kingdom airports. Moreover, the tour operator firm has also cancelled its holiday plans to Poland amid the current scenario of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
All the departures which have been booked for the time frame of March 22 to 26, 2022, has been cancelled. Although, a refund will be provided to the individuals, keeping aside the admin fees amount. The authorities have informed that the flights will recommence from May 27, 2022.
Prior to the date, which is up to March 21, 2022, the holiday to Poland will operate normally.
Meanwhile, the operator, in a notice to the travel agents, cited, “Because of the current circumstances, we at Jet2holidays have had to review out flying programme to Poland and Bulgaria.”
Poland shares a border with Ukraine, which have been invaded by the Russian military, along with the east coast sits on the Black Sea in eastern Europe.
Moreover, the departures from Birmingham and Stansted have also been delayed and will be commencing after May 20, 2022. The officials further informed that from ‘Edinburgh‘, the flights as well as holidays are also witnessing a postponement and will be starting after May 31, 2022.
For the same, the individuals will be getting a full refund for the cancelled bookings, except for the admin fees.
Amid the ongoing condition of Ukraine, countries are sending their jets to evacuate their nationals from the country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria – Teodora Genchovska, informed that at least 66 Bulgarian and Ukrainian nationals had been evacuated from Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion.
The Minister tweeted, “Heading back to Bulgaria from #Moldova evacuating 66 Bulgarian & Ukraine citizens who wished to leave the country. Solidarity is crucial in times of crises.”
