Germany seizes 'Dilbar' yacht, owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov

A yacht worth the price of $600 million, which is expected to be the world’s most expensive, has been seized by the German authorities. This luxury yacht is owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov.

Usmanov has also faced sanctions by the European Union commission following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The information has been provided by sources in the yacht industry.

The website of Forbes stated that the yacht – known as ‘Dilbar’, was taken to the northern port of Hamburg. The 512-feet yacht was undergoing the process of refit in the shipyards of Blohm + Voss.

The government of Germany has held the yacht. After which, the employees who were working on the yacht did not occur for the work.

Although no official statement has yet been released by the Blohm + Voss, apart from Usmanov, the European Union has imposed sanctions on other 25 prominent personalities amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as stated in the official journal of the commission.

According to the ship-tracking data, a total of five superyachts of the Russian billionaires were either anchored or seen cruising on Wednesday in the Maldives, which is an Indian Ocean island nation that does not have an extradition treaty with – United States of America.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has risen to the extent of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Following the current scenario, several countries, as well as international organisations, put sanctions on Russia to show their courtesy to Ukraine and its people.
