Chief Health Inspector Kunchev: Bulgaria soon to face another wave of virus

He asserted, "We are already in a new wave of COVID-19. We are moving 3-4 weeks after what is happening in Western Europe. In the next two to three weeks, we are expected to face an increase in the new wave". 

COVID in Bulgaria: 123 cases reported, 0 deaths

These new cases have been recorded of the additional 1134 tests conducted by the healthcare staff at the testing facilities throughout the country during the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of the fresh COVID-19 infections accounts for around 10.84%.

Along with this, three COVID-19 patients lost their lives to the deadliest viral illness. All of the deceased belonged to the category of the unvaccinated Bulgarian population, the data further adds.

The authorities of the international health agency then reminded the general public that the "pandemic is not over yet". 

Number of Nurses declines in Bulgaria during COVID

The data adds that in the year 2019, there were a total of 30,546 nurses in the Balkan state. This number was dropped to 29,160 in the year 2020 and to 28,816 in the last year - 2021.

COVID in Bulgaria: 240 people tests positive for virus

These new cases have been detected from the additional 3722 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities at the testing sites. The positivity rate of the new cases accounts for around 6.4%. Of these new cases, 63.8% belonged to the category of unvaccinated individuals. 

Bulgaria records fresh 152 COVID-19 cases

Along with this, at least four (4) patients with the COVID-19 virus lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in the last day, and all of them were not vaccinated against COVID-19, the portal's data further adds.
