Bulgarian Leaders Unite in Celebrating Unification Day, Urge National Cohesion

Several Bulgarian politicians extended their heartfelt congratulations to the nation on the occasion of Unification Day, a national holiday that commemorates Bulgaria’s unification with Eastern Rumelia on September 6, 1885.

This pivotal moment in Bulgarian history continues to serve as a symbol of national unity and strength, as highlighted in the messages from the country’s political leaders.

Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev emphasized the enduring significance of unity among the Bulgarian people. Reflecting on the historic event, Glavchev remarked that the unification of Bulgaria demonstrated the impossibility of artificially dividing the nation.

Peevski paid tribute to the heroes of the unification, urging citizens to preserve their legacy, uphold national identity, and support European values.

He emphasized that only through unity can Bulgaria continue on its Euro-Atlantic path and resist external influences that threaten national stability.
