Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre congratulated the newly elected Taiwan’s President, H.E. Lai Ching-Te and Vice President, H.E. Hsiao Bi-Khim.

The national elections were held in a democratic manner. PM Pierre expressed his delight in working with newly elected leaders of Taiwan in the future for the development of both nations.

It is to be noted that the leader of Saint Lucia took to his official Facebook handle to extend the greetings to the delegates.

“Once again, I wish to congratulate the Government and People of the Republic of China, Taiwan, on their democratically held National Elections. I look forward to working with President-Elect H.E. Lai Ching-Te and Vice President-Elect H.E. Hsiao Bi-Khim, in the future. We remain committed to working together for the development of all our people”, remarked PM Pierre.

Moreover, this significant event marks a significant chapter in Taiwan’s political landscape and strengthens the ties between both nations in smooth working.

Further to this, the government of Saint Lucia lauded the people of Taiwan for their active participation in the democratic process and values the principles of peace, prosperity and democracy.

Noting this, Saint Lucia and Taiwan shared a close bond as Taiwan has sponsored and supported many economic projects in the nation.

Recently, in the last month, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Saint Lucia and Mrs Chen joined some of the Bamboo Works workshop participants in their booth at the Taste of Saint Lucia Expo in Rodney Bay.

It is to be noted that 25 participants benefitted from a bamboo training workshop entitled “Bamboo Works”, which was sponsored by the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) in Saint Lucia and facilitated by the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF).

Additionally, Ya Ching Lee of Taiwan shared her expertise in bamboo weaving and contemporary product design at this event. More emphasis was laid on sustainable and beautifully crafted creations.
