Castries, Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, as well as the member of parliament serving for the Castries South, Ernest Hilaire, will be hosting sweet Christmas Solo in Tete Chemin, Barre St Joseph, on Friday.
The Christmas festivities will cap off in Castries South on December 22, 2023, from 8 pm onwards.
“To cap off our Christmas festivities in Castries South this year, come enjoy sweet Solo in Tete Chemin, Barre St Joseph on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 8 pm onwards”, the Deputy PM stated.
Minister Hilaire took to his official Facebook handle to share the proper schedule of the Christmas festivities, which included Children’s Christmas celebrations.
As Saint Lucia celebrates the festival with great zeal, warmth and excitement, various competitions and events take place during the celebrations.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia hosted the Children’s Christmas Party from December 9-16, 2023, in different constituencies.
Recently, the member of parliament for the Castries South hosted the Black Cake and Sorrel Competition outside the Constituency Office on December 17, 2023.
Notably, Minister Hilaire has always been constant in organizing events for the people of Saint Lucia, and he has also actively taken an interest in community affairs, which mainly include,
– Taking part in public gatherings
– To have one-to-one talks with the members of the constituency to better understand the on-ground knowledge of Castries South
– Organizing events for public welfare
Additionally, the government of Saint Lucia has approved the barrel concession for the Christmas season of 2023. Barrels imported during the period of November 1, 2023 – February 28, 2024, are not liable for the Health and Citizen Security Levy and Value Added Tax (VAT).
Moreover, the number of barrels that would meet the requirements for the concession would be restricted to two per household.
However, it should be noted that the items that are being entitled to this concession will attract a Customs Service Charge, which is fixed to the rate of six per cent (6%).
