Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre secured a 100 per cent vote of confidence by delegates during the constitutional process of his party on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
He extended a vote of thanks to all the officials who cast their ballots every three years during the legal process of the Saint Lucia Labour Party.
Notably, the National Council of the current ruling party met in closed session to receive annual reports and to cast their vote of confidence for the Political Leader.
The secret vote tally was 268 to 0.
PM Pierre expressed his gratitude for all the support, strength, and guidance as the administration continued to espouse the principles of freedom, bread, and justice for all Saint Lucians.
“For the second time, I was given a 100% vote of confidence”, the leader of Saint Lucia stated.
Many people across the nation congratulated and extended their best wishes to the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia for his remarkable victory.
PM Pierre, while speaking to the reporters on the margins of a Cabinet meeting on Monday, advocated that the vote represented approval for what his party leadership and government are doing.
He further emphasized what the SLP started and adhered to the party’s mantra to prioritize the well-being of the people of the country.
“That remains my singular, most important objective- to put the people of Saint Lucia,” the Prime Minister stated.
PM Philip showed his gratitude as the people of Castries East elected him as MP on six consecutive occasions.
Saint Lucia Labour Party also congratulated the Saint Lucia Prime Minister on his truly historic victory for the second time in a row through their official Facebook handle.
The party is looking forward to working in favour of the people and for the development of their nation at large.
