Burgas, Bulgaria: Dimitar Nikolov, mayor of Burgas, has been re-elected to serve as mayor of Burgas for the next four years. While making this announcement public, he said, “When I first ran for mayor, I never imagined I’d be re-elected, and, and again”.
Mayor Dimitar Nikolov highlighted that four years ago, he didn’t know much about how to run a city and be a good mayor; now, he has learned a lot and is still learning every day.
Expressing his joy after being re-elected to be the mayor of Burgas Municipality, Mayor Nikolov remarked that he never thought he could win so many people’s trust and love.
He noted that he had always been convinced that Burgas was undeservedly neglected and that it needed to change. “I managed to pull it off. With a lot of work, with a lot of standing in front of locked doors and most of all – with self-confidence that I represent the people of Burgas”.
The Burgas Mayor underlined that in his first four years as a mayor, he learned that bold dreams are important for a city. “Those who unlock prospects. I could not always explain why significant steps are needed at the expense of small joys. But I always took them, knowing they were necessary,” said mayor Nikolov.
He mentioned that Whatever awards and calls Burgas has received in recent years, he has never forgotten that he bears responsibility for both the vulnerable and the successful.
The mayor of Burgas said, “I managed to prove that Burgas should be considered. I also found out that the ego isn’t useful to you when they slam your door because you still have to go back in front of it”.
Mayor Nikolov said that the most important thing he learned as mayor is not to turn away and focus energy on evil because it takes energy to create sound.
He promised that he was ready with the projects for the next four years of Burgas, and the residents will see them very soon. Mayor Nikolov said he is confident to serve Burgas for another four years.
