“Without him, nothing is impossible. Let us also be thankful for those around us, smile with them and show appreciation to them”, said DPM Hilaire.

A holiday was declared in Saint Lucia every year on the first Monday of October to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Those who celebrate this day usually spend time with their loved ones and friends, go to church and give thanks to the Lord for an abundant harvest and every success they achieved throughout the year.

Children and youth spend this day enjoying, dancing, listening to music and hosting sporting events.

While wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving day, the Deputy Minister shared a bible verse through his official Facebook account, which reads, (PSALM 103:1-4); “Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion”.

The Deputy Minister highlighted that this year, Saint Lucia has observed remarkable achievements, faced challenges with courage, and together, has grown stronger.

He remarked that the government is building bridges to opportunities, enhancing skills, and empowering the youth to shine bright.

“Every hand that contributes, every mind that innovates, and every heart that believes in the transformative power of a TVET education plays a crucial role in weaving the beautiful tapestry of our progress”.
