Sofia: Construction of multifunctional sports hall begins in Lyulin district

Sofia, Bulgaria: Georgi Valentinov Georgiev, chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council, informed through his social media account that on September 21, 2023, the Metropolitan Municipality started the construction of a new multifunctional sports hall in 56 SU in the Lyulin district.

On Thursday, the construction of the first multifunctional sports hall at school began. It will benefit over 1,100 students and residents of the area. Chairman Georgiev stressed that five are the designed multifunctional sports halls by Sofia’s chief architect under this program.

A few months ago, the Metropolitan Municipality approved funding for the initial stage of the sports halls in Sofia’s two largest regions – Lyulin – 1 million. BGN and 1.8 million for 145 SU in “Mladost” left.

In the Lyulin region, the Municipality is building two sports facilities under the public-private partnership program with sports clubs and federations. BFS has already renovated an altogether football field in Lyulin – 2 m. p. – fully prepared, open to access and with hours of free sports.

Chairman Georgieva congratulated district mayor Stefan Markov, who worked hard to protect the funding, and his colleagues at the municipal council, Tatyana Georgieva and Engineer Milko Mladenov, who approved the investments. He said, “These are the facts and results of work done – the other are tales that we are yet to hear in the campaign”.

The residents of Sofia appreciated the efforts of Chairman Georgi Valentinov Georgiev and the Metropolitan Municipality for the work done at the sports hall in Lyulin district and for encouraging young individuals to participate in sports activities.

The Sofian residents replied that sports facilities in the capital are becoming more and more modern.
