Gabrovo, Bulgaria: The Gabrovo Municipality informed through its social media account that yesterday, July 6, 2023, 584 people were examined as part of the initiative “For Quality Health in the Village” of the Mother’s Care GBD.
In the year 2022, “Motherly Care”, JBD launches the implementation of the initiative “For Quality Health in the Village“. This is one of the causes the Society has chosen for 2022 when it marks the 30th anniversary of its restoration (1992). Donors provide funds for the initiative.
Medical examinations were performed for older people in the villages of Gabrovo Municipality, where there is no health service and no schedule for visiting medical staff, and for whom commuting to the city is particularly difficult. Medical examinations included a cardiologist, neurologist examination, blood tests and urine.
The team of the Maternal Care JBD thanks Dr Noah – Manager of the Diagnostic and Consultative Center 1 – Gabrovo, who, despite the reduced medical staff of the Center, provided a team of 4 specialists – cardiologist, neurologist and two nurses.
Mayors and deputies actively participated in the organization of the initiative, prepared lists of desirable examinations and provided suitable conditions for conducting them.
At the end of the year, the Society received tremendous support from the Municipality of Gabrovo. By Decision No. 230 of 24.11.2022 of the OS – Gabrovo and the conclusion of an Agreement with the Municipality of Gabrovo, No. 9 of 16.12.2022, The amount of 35,000 BGN was relaxed.
On the initiative of the Municipality “Mobile Doctor”. Due to the limited funds, people over 65 years of age were examined who had address registration in the respective settlement.
A total of 584 people, mostly older people, were examined who had not undergone a preventive examination with personal doctors for the following reasons: financial, complex movement due to physical difficulties and inconvenient transport. Some hardly mobile patients were visited at their homes.
