Chepelare, Bulgaria: The Municipality of Chepelare shared a glimpse of the Olympic Day celebration conducted in the city. Like the entire world, Chepelare City recognized June 23 as International Olympic Day on the square.
The celebration began with a biathlon demonstration on laser gun shooting organized by SC “Rozhen Chepelare-2016”. The attendees were given T-shirts provided by BOK / Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and the participants who tried to shoot also received certificates for participation in the Olympic Day, signed by Stefka Kostadinova and Thomas Bach.
Guests of the city joined those wishing to try their accuracy and touch the traditional sport of the town – biathlon.
During the event, there was also no shortage of those who “got on fire”, and amateurs tried their hand at Canadian wrestling. The Municipality also announced that residents are invited to a charity volleyball tournament for the Ivan Popov Cup on the sports field behind Vasil Dechev University, the city, at 10:30 am on June 24 and 25.
On June 23, people throughout the world observe World Olympic Day or International Olympic Day to celebrate the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and to support the ideals defended by the Olympic Movement. Baron Pierre de Coubertin is regarded as the father of the Olympics because he established the National Olympic Committee on June 23, 1894.
Let’s Move is the theme of this year’s Olympic Day, which attempts to motivate individuals all over the world to schedule regular physical activity. International Olympic Day is observed with a few of each region’s customs, traditions, and beliefs. The Chepelare Municipality promoted sports and activities among its youngsters.
