Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, is set to meet with Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States of America, in the Bahamas next week.

On June 8 2023, the summit, which will be hosted by PM Terrance Drew and U.S. Vice President Harris, is set to take place in the Bahamas. Several leaders of other Caribbean countries will also be present during the U.S. Caribbean meeting.

It is expected that Minister Drew and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will have a lengthy discussion on the collective efforts related to climate change, security, recognition of common interests and strengthening the relations between both countries.

As per reports, the current chair of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Philip Davis, will co-host the extraordinary summit of world leaders with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

The United States Embassy in the Bahamas has also stated that the future gathering will be an enlargement of the earlier communities of Caribbean leaders held in April of last year as well as the meetings of the Americas conducted in Los Angeles in June and September of 2022.

The US-Caribbean Leaders Meeting will be held on June 8, 2023, and the United States is expected to enhance its support to the Caribbean region.

Additionally, the visit of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will provide a golden opportunity for Biden and Harris administration to strengthen bilateral ties with Caribbean countries and boost common security and prosperity.

Additionally, CARICOM will conduct a lengthy discussion on climate issues and encourage climate resilience measures with adaptation strategies. The objective can be accomplished by encouraging clean energy and secure renewable energy sources.

The climate catastrophe 2030 will be a prominent topic to discuss during the US-Caribbean Leaders Meeting 2023. Vice President Kamala Harris will discuss several common topics at the summit, but the climate crisis will be the main subject.
