Pianist Ruza Semova, who will accompany Apostle Milenkov at the End of Autumn Vocal Recital, on June 1, Thursday, at 7 pm in the Revenue Building, is the winner of many awards from Bulgarian and international piano competitions.
The person who first discovered her interest in music, especially the piano, was her grandmother. She introduced Rose, who was three and a half years old then, to the first piano teacher Violeta Kabadova.
At the age of 9, the little pianist receives her first recognition – 2nd prize in the Svetoslav Obretenov National Competition in Provadia. A year later, he also received international recognition – 2nd prize in the “Virtuos per music di Pianoforte” competition in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic.
In 1996, Ruza Semova graduated from the music school in the capital with complete distinction in Tsveta Kuncheva’s piano class and was declared “First of the Class”.
She continued her education at the National Academy of Music in Sofia in the class of Professor Anton Dikov, which graduated with distinctions in 2000.
Back in 2007, Semova graduated with distinctions from the Vienna University of Music in the class of Professor Stefan Vladar and received her master’s degree.
During these years, Ruza Semova also participated in the master classes of famous pianists such as Marco Tetsa, Germain Munier, Dmitry Bashkirov and Anders Lyungar-Chapelon. Educators Dora Milanova, Elena Tomova and Hans Petermandl have made an outstanding contribution to musical development.
Ruza Semova has played with most Bulgarian symphony orchestras and has made records for Bulgarian National Television, Bulgarian National Radio, as well as Classic FM radio.
Professional activity outside Bulgaria includes events in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, France, Israel, Japan, Peru, Canada, USA. She was often invited to participate in international festivals, such as Frederick Chopin in Paris, Varna Summer, Nedyalka Simeonova, Apollonia and the Piano Festival in Rohr, Germany.
Currently, Ruza Semova teaches at the Vienna Music University and continues her concert activity. Enjoy the Vocal Recital “End of Autumn”, which is coming up on June 1, Thursday, from 7 pm in the Europe Hall of the Income Building.
