Singh stated that he never anticipated receiving the honour, but he is confident that his consistent effort has paid off over the previous few years.

The athlete is greatly motivated by the acknowledgement from his fellow citizens in appreciation of his outstanding on-field performance. During the 5th edition of the Hockey India Annual Awards event held in New Delhi in March of this year, the hockey player received another significant honour: the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year 2022.

According to Singh, such accolades inspire athletes, urging them to strive for excellence continuously. He expressed gratitude to Hockey India and the award’s judges and emphasised the benefits of awards in promoting a culture of competition among senior and junior players.

The fact that he received the prize in front of hockey greats like Gurbux Singh, Dhanraj Pillay, and Harcharan Singh gave it a special meaning and inspired him to develop as a player even more.
