Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, recently attended a breakfast meeting with other ministers and representatives from the region.
The meeting discussed various challenges and issues affecting the Caribbean region, particularly those related to the UK Monarchy following King Charles III’s coronation on May 6, 2023.
The recent update reveals that a meeting was held to discuss various areas of concern and opportunities for improvement within the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared information about the breakfast meeting on his official Facebook account and welcomed all ministers in attendance. Its primary objective was to inform citizens about the meeting’s purpose and outcomes.
Minister Drew warmly greeted the representatives from St Kitts and Nevis, as well as the ministers from all over the country. He expressed his gratitude for their attendance at the meeting.
He recognized the significance of the discussion that would take place, which would address important topics and concerns of the Twin Island Federation.
He also publicized the names of the representatives from various places that he met with and mentioned it was a pleasure to meet with Daniel Kawcynzski, Chair of APPG – SKN representative for Shropshire, Rob Roberts MP, Denlyn, James Sunderland MP, Bracknell, Chair of BVI APPG, and Scott Sherlock, PA to DK MP.
During the meeting, PM Drew mentioned that three officers from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for St Kitts and Nevis were present, along with the Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, the High Commissioner to the UK, Kevin Isaac, and the Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Naeemah Hazelle, all gathered for a breakfast meeting.
According to reports, Prime Minister Terrance Drew organized a meeting with leaders and representatives from the twin island federation.
They discussed important topics and sectors of the country, including trade post-Brexit, the future of the Monarchy in the Caribbean, Windrush issues, and support for socioeconomic developmental projects in St Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minister shared the areas and fields covered during the meeting.
During the discussion, PM Drew outlined the importance of addressing issues crucial to the country’s growth and development.
Following the coronation ceremony of King Charles III on May 6, 2023, PM, Drew highlighted the strong relationship between St. Kitts and Nevis and the United Kingdom. He also mentioned the potential for future partnerships with the UK for the nation’s growth.
