Fandakova: Sofia Municipality to modernize old school building with new roof, installations and modern equipment

Yordanka Favdakova, Mayor of Sofia, reported that, after building a new school building at 28 Aleko Konstantinov University last year, the Municipality of Sofia is now working to modernize the old school building completely.

  • A new roof and installations
  • A new STEM room and gym equipment

By the end of the year, the building and the yard of the 28th school will be fully renovated. The construction is in progress under the supervision of the mayor of Krasna Polyana, Ivan Valchev Chakarov. 

On his social media account, Fandakova wrote, “I rely on the control of the mayor of Krasna Polyana, Ivan Valchev Chakarov. 

Chakarov also commented that he is wholly focused on modernizing the old building of 28th Su Aleko Konstantinov with energy efficiency measures, a new roof and installations, as well as a new STEM hall and gym equipment. 

He claimed that by the end of the year, the building and the yard of the 28th school will be completely renovated.

The capital’s mayor added that Sofia Municipality is also looking to modernize the building of 48 OU “Yosif Kovachev” and allocating funds for the construction of a gym of 100 OU “Nayden Gerov” and the construction of 2 new schools in the district. “Monastery Meadows-West” and in the “Studentski” district this year. 

Under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, Mayor Fandakova applied to renovate 22 schools and kindergartens and planned repairs to 25 more schools and kindergartens with funds from the municipal privatization fund.

She also highlighted that the restoration of the garden to the Rila Hotel is in progress and is anticipated to be completed soon.

The Municipality is renovating it together with the administration of the Sredets district – on the assignment of Traicho Traikov – mayor of the Sredets region.

She informed that the flooring was restored, and now the deputy team. -Mayor of Ecology of Metropolitan Municipality, Desislava Bileva, enriches the green areas.

Mayor Fandakova claims that the Municipality is planting over 350 roses and many new flower bushes. Together with the area, they also renovate the place of the old tent.
