Many citizens gathered in front of the presidency and the parliament buildings in another protest under the slogan #ГАЗwithme on Wednesday evening. The event overlapped with the national holiday in Ukraine. The peaceful march was organized in support of the country’s people. Rallies and protests are also conducted in Plovdiv and Varna.
In the capital- Sofia, citizens protested against the cabinet government for their intentions to negotiate with Gazprom. The protest was supported by “Democratic Bulgaria“. The protesters were waiting for President Rumen Radev to come out of the building at Dondukov2.
The protesters carried various homemade posters with different messages written on them. Some say, “It is the right time for Bulgaria to break its Russian dependence”. On the other was written, “My country does not negotiate with child killers,” and others say, “Putin’s gas is a trap”.
Later, a peaceful procession for freedom and Independence was conducted, and people showed their support for Ukraine.
Martin Dimitrov also joined the protest and is a member of DB. He said, DB is against Russian gas, but not against Russian oil.” Things are getting out of hands; The government is killing all choices for Russian gas.
Ivaylo, who also attended the protest, said, “We can’t stand with what is happening in the country, and with the direction the caretaker government leading the country. I request that we continue to break away from our dependence on Russia, Gazprom, and all the companies and tools Russia uses for his geopolitical interests to get closer to Europe and the civilized world”. People prayed for Ukraine in Plovdiv
More than 150 Ukrainian refugees, alongside residents of Plovdiv, gathered in Central Square to celebrate Ukraine’s independence day and march throughout the city. People sang national songs and anthems and carried out the slogans of “Glory to Ukraine” and “Putin, the killer.”
Everyone gathered in central square took a minute of silence for those who lost their lives due to Russian aggression and prayed for the peace and Independence of Ukraine.
