Pernik has been recognized as the fifth district to be reclassified from a green to a yellow zone, containing a morbidity rate of 102.52 per 100 000 population on a 14-day basis.

Dobrich district holds a 98.02 percent of morbidity rate, and Sofia district, distinct from Sofia city, at 99.31 percent. The Classification as a yellow zone means a fortnightly morbidity rate between 100 and 249.9 per 100 000 population.

According to the reports, of 5149 tests done in the past day, 842, about 16.35 per cent proved positive. More than 440 patients are admitted to the hospitals in Bulgaria, with 31 in intensive care.

The district of Vratsa has become the fourth in Bulgaria to rise above the threshold to be reclassified from a Covid-19 green zone to a yellow zone, according to figures posted on July 7 on the unified information portal.

According to the reports revealed on July 7, as per 100 000 population on a 14-day basis, Bulgaria’s morbidity rate is 100.85 percent, above the threshold of 100 to 249.9 per 100 000 population on a fortnightly basis to be classified as a yellow zone.

Vratsa joins Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia (173.47), and Bulgaria’s Black Sea districts of Varna (142.55) and Bourgas (137.02) in the four out of 28 districts in Bulgaria classified as yellow zones. For now, the remaining 24 districts are green zones.

The Health Ministry said that people with complaints and symptoms characteristic of Covid-19 (headache, severe fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, loss of appetite, etc.) should isolate themselves and consult a doctor.
