Sofia, Bulgaria: The Balkan state recorded a total of an additional 189 cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of June 2, 2022.
These new COVID infections have been detected from the additional 4673 tests performed by the healthcare facilities during the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of fresh COVID infections stands at 4.4%.
The last day also recorded the death of two patients with the COVID-19 virus in Bulgaria, whereas a total of 840 COVID patients got recovered and were discharged from the hospital facilities of the Balkan state, as per the official statistics presented in the portal.
Two of the deceased belonged to the category of unvaccinated individuals, while 61.38% of the new COVID infections were not vaccinated against the virus.
For the present time, there are a total of 367 COVID patients in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, out of which there are a total of thirty-five (35) patients in intensive care units – ICU.
Additional 486 doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines were also administered in the European country at the vaccination centres yesterday.
Vaccination rate of Bulgaria:
Till June 1, 2022, in Bulgaria, there have been a total of 2,059,635 individuals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of the fully immunized population.
The above-mentioned number of Bulgarian citizens represents around 29.7% of the total eligible targeted population of the European state, as per the official data.
