Sofia, Bulgaria: The Prime Minister of Bulgaria – Kiril Petkov, is in Davos to attend the summit of the World Economic Forum. During his visit, he met with several world leaders.
Prime Minister Petkov met with the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources of Egypt – Tarek el Mola yesterday, May 25, 2022, in Davos. The meeting witnessed significant discussions on energy cooperation between the two nations.

Bulgarian Prime Minister, while highlighting the key points of the meet, tweeted, “Productive meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Tareq El Molla in Davos. The main focus of our conversation was the opportunity to develop successful cooperation in the energy sector”.
He then met with the President of the state of Israel – Isaac Herzog. Both the dignitaries underlined the strong historical ties between them. “We have reaffirmed our mutual wish to further expand economic cooperation in the field of energy, innovation and investments”, stated Prime Minister Petkov.

While meeting with the Prime Minister of Moldova, Natalia Gavrilica, the challenges that arise amid the war between Russia-Ukraine were talked about by Prime Minister Petkov. This includes challenges faced by the energy sector.

“Bulgaria and Moldova have always maintained excellent bilateral relations based on strong historical and cultural ties; Taraclia State University is another good example of this”, underscored PM Petkov.
Prime Minister Petkov also met with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković at WEF2022 and talked about the forthcoming European Commission council meeting, the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the importance of joining Schengen for both Bulgaria and Croatia.

Prime Minister of Montenegro – Dr Dritan Abazovic, was among the leaders who met with the Bulgarian Prime Minister on the sidelines of WEF2022. Meeting him, PM Petkov reaffirmed the support of Bulgaria for Montenegro’s EU accession path and also welcomed the political will of the government for the rule of law, economic development and prosperity.
