COVID in Bulgaria: Fresh 1140 infections reported with 23 deaths

In the last 24 hours, Bulgaria has recorded a total of new 1140 cases of the novel coronavirus, taking the total count of the active COVID-19 infections to 152 524, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of April 27, 2022 (Wednesday).

These additional COVID-19 tests have been recorded of the total 11 615 additional tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of Bulgaria in the past day. The positivity rate of these new COVID-19 infections stands at 9.81%, taking the overall number of the confirmed novel coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1 154 646 as of today.

A total of twenty-three individuals with the viral illness lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in the last 24 hours, according to the data. This brings the total death rate of the European country to 36 879.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 4957 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the virus and have also been discharged from the hospital facilities. The total count of the European country’s recovery rate has increased to 965 243.

For the present time, there are a total of 928 COVID patients in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted 204 patients. Currently, there are a total of 102 patients with COVID in intensive care units – ICU.

Additional 2227 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours in Bulgaria.

As of April 26, 2022, there are a total of 2,054,944 individuals who have received their recommended number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the virus, representing nearly 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 743,339 COVID-19 patients who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots which is the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This number of individuals represents around 10.7% of the total targeted eligible population, as per the official data.
