As of April 2, 2022, a total of 1033 new cases of the novel coronavirus were found in the European country in the last 24 hours.

Sofia, Bulgaria: As of April 2, 2022, a total of 1033 new cases of the novel coronavirus were found in the European country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of COVID active infections in Bulgaria has increased to 177 602, as per the data shared in the unified information portal.  

Meanwhile, the overall number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the European country has hiked to 1 139 956 since the beginning of the outbreak. The positivity rate of the new cases stands at 8.15%.

With this, a total of twenty-five (25) individuals lost their lives to the contagious viral illness in the past 24 hours, bringing the death rate of the country to 36 554, according to figures, as of April 2, 2022. 

At the present time, there are a total of 1848 patients with the novel coronavirus in the hospital facilities, including 184 newly admitted COVID-19 patients. There are a total of 216 patients in intensive care units -ICU, which is three less than the data of April 1, 2022. 

To date, there are a total of 2,050,547 individuals who have taken their required number of the COVID-19 jabs and are in the category of fully vaccinated individuals. This number of individuals accounts for around 29.6% of the total targeted population.  

On the other hand, there are a total of 723,465 citizens of the European country who are fully immunized and have also taken their booster shot (third dose) of the COVID-19 vaccine as of April 2, 2022. This number of individuals accounts for nearly 10.4% of the total targeted eligible population.Â
