Sofia, Bulgaria: The European nation has recorded a total of 1698 additional cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the unified information portal of March 30, 2022. This brings the total number of active COVID infections in the country to 187,031. 

The fresh COVID-19 cases have been recorded among the 15 551 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, and the positivity rate of the new cases stands at 10.92%. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the European nation has increased to 1 136 604 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Along with these, a total of eighteen (18) individuals lost their lives to the contagious virus, bringing the overall tally of the death rate in Bulgaria to 36 498, as per the data of the portal, as of March 30. 

There are a total of 2761 patients with the COVID-19 virus who got recovered from the deadliest virus and have been discharged from the hospital facilities. With this, the total recovery rate of Bulgaria rises to 913 075.  

At the present time, there are a total of 1971 COVID-19 patients who are in the hospital, including 236 newly admitted patients of the virus. The data further reveals that there are a total of 217 patients who are in intensive care units – ICU.  

A total of 1847 doses and 1387 booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the past 24 hours. 

To date, there are a total of 2,049,587 individuals in Bulgaria who have taken their required number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully inoculated against the mutant. This number of citizens represents around 29.6% of the total targeted Bulgarian population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 719,339 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines so far, calculating around 10.4% of the total eligible Bulgarian population.
