According to the unified information portal on January 20, Bulgaria reported 10,160 Covid-19 fresh cases on Wednesday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 179,301. In the past 24 hours, around 41,433 people were tested.
During the same time, 93 people lost their lives due to the deadly virus. According to the latest update on the portal, the total number of deaths reported in the country since the pandemic has begun are 32, 431, according to the latest update on the portal. Out of these citizens, 94.62 percent were not administrated by the vaccine against Covid-19.
So far, Bulgaria has around 179,301 active cases; in the past 24 hours, 9204 active cases were added to the tally.
The count of the recovered patients is 640,213. 816 people were recovered and discharged from the hospitals on Wednesday. Till now, around 5,208 people have been admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19; of these, 572 were new admissions. Of these, 542 patients are under intensive care, 12 lesser than Tuesday (report on January 19).
Within the 24 hours, as many as 124 health staff members tested positive for the virus, taking the tally to 19,209.
As here, 4,058,974 people have taken the doses of vaccines against Covid-19 in Bulgaria; out of these, 19,321 were administrated on the past day. A total of 1,970,165 Bulgarians have taken complete vaccination, including 2,965 in the past day. While 541,337 people have received a booster dose of vaccine.
As of January 20, 24 out of 28 Bulgarian districts have been categorized as the dark red zones, whereas four have been classified as red zoned districts.
The cities under the dark-red zone are: Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Varna, Vidin, Gabrovo, Kyustendil, Pernik, Sofia district, Sofia city, Stara Zagora, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Dobrich, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Rousse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Haskovo and Yambol.
Meanwhile, in the red zone are: Razgrad, Turgovishte, Shoumen and Kurdzhali.
