Dominica: The Contract Signing and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Champagne Modern Tourist Reception Facility was hosted on July 10. The new tourist reception facility will be a remarkable addition to the tourism sector of the nation.

During the groundbreaking ceremony and contract signing, the stakeholders of the tourism ministry displayed the map and blueprint for the facility. The stakeholders also detailed the various top notch facilities that will be provided at the Champagne Modern Tourist Reception Facility.

The Minister of Tourism, Denise Charles Pemberton shared that this is a historic development especially for the locals. The Champaign beach is one of the most visited sites in Dominica, with several people visiting the beach in summers

She highlighted that they want to provide the tourists with the world class facilities at the site, which reflect the fame and beauty of the beach. She listed some of the highlights of the tourist reception facility, including space for vendors, restaurant operators and tour operators.

The officials have shared that the tourists can relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the beach. Minister Charles-Pemberton stated that the facility is accessible for all the people of the country, including the differently-abled.

She addressed her constituents stating that the local beach of their constituency has been elevated to a world class-levels. She highlighted that the beach is thus creating more jobs, more opportunities and better economic opportunity.

The Minister stated that this is part of the Dominica Labour Party’s vision. She credited the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for this remarkable achievement.

She shared that the Prime Minister has placed the Tourism Sector as a pillar for economic development for the people. She said that the Tourism Sector is the fastest Rebounding sector after every major disaster including Covid-19 pandemic.

According to her, the sector has the potential to create several jobs both directly and indirectly.

Today marks a historic day for the meeting of the mandate of the country to develop the natural wonders of the nation with modern, multi use facilities.

These facilities will ensure that the people have access to a comfortable safe and enjoyable experience.
