Dominica: The prime minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit extended a congratulatory message to the newly elected Prime Minister of United Kingdom. Keir Starmer and the labour party have achieved a resounding victory in the general Electtions of the United Kingdom.

Keir Starmer led his political party to a resounding victory with   412 seats out of 650 in the parliament of United Kingdom. The elections for the new government in United Kingdom were hosted on Thursday with the results being declared day of.

The new Prime Minister of United Kingdom claimed that, “Change begins now’. He acknowledged in his speech that labour’s position is still precarious despite what the numbers suggest.

He said that his government will have to deliver on the promises that they have made.  PM Skerrit took to his social media account to congratulate the new government of United Kingdom.

PM Skerrit noted that they will look forward to continued support and collaboration with the government of the United Kingdom. They are looking forward to working with the Prime Minister and his team as the two nations share a remarkable relationship.

He also extended his best wishes for the new government will have a successful term in the office. He hoped that they will work for the betterment of both the relations.

The elections mark a peaceful transfer of power from the previous United Kingdom Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak to the new administration. The recent elections were special, since Keir Starmer and labour government was first to gather such a landslide victory in this century.

Keir Starmer’s predecessor, Rishi Sunak also delivered a brief address after his political party lost the elections for not gathering enough seats in the parliament. He was happy to see a peaceful transfer of power from his administration to the next.
