Rishi Sunak, the new British Prime Minister, has some history with Bulgaria. His Father-in-Law, Mr Narayan Murty, nicknamed Bill Gates of India, was arrested in Bulgaria for trying to talk about life in the nation with a regional couple in 1974. He repeatedly spoke about the three-day intention in the communist country in interviews and public gatherings over the years. He claimed that people’s treatment of him caused him to reevaluate his previous socialist beliefs.
Akshata Murthy’s father, Narayana Murthy, founded Infosys, one of India’s leading international technology corporations, and she is the wife of Rishi Sunak. The newly appointed British Prime Minister’s father-in-law visited several European nations in 1974 while travelling between Paris and India. Murthy, who had taken the train from Nis to Sofia, later had an experience in Bulgaria that, in his own words, caused him to abandon his leftist beliefs and become a compassionate capitalist.
In an interview for the “Oral Testimony of History” collection at the Computer History Museum in California, Murthy described his interaction with a Bulgarian man and a Bulgarian woman as “I tried to start up a conversation with them.”
“I originally tried Russian because I knew the language. But since they both disliked Russia, neither of them wanted to communicate with me in Russian. I then attempted to talk in English, but they were also unable to speak it. Finally, I approached a female, and we interacted in French. The youngster became upset for an unknown cause and called the police. The girl was taken away by the police, and my baggage and sleeping bag were also taken.”
Murthy was pulled out of the train and brought to a tiny holding area at the station. According to his statement, they kept him there for several days without providing him with food or water. On Wednesday, they finally opened the door. He was taken into the guard room of a freight train that was leaving. He said, “You are from the friendly nation India; that’s why we’re letting you go”.
After the incident, he returned to India and conducted an entrepreneurial experiment. He founded Infosys in 1981; now it’s a multi-billionaire company that provides business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services.
His daughter Akshata Murthy is the Wife of Britain’s new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. Their Marriage took place in August 2009. They have two children, Krishna Sunak and Anoushka Sunak. The entrepreneur, 42, started her financial career in California in 2009. She then established “Akshata Designs,” a fashion business.
