Among the most notable cancellations, the suburban passenger train scheduled to depart from Septemvri at 10:50 a.m. and arrive in Avramovo at 1:43 p.m. has been called off due to a shortage of available rolling stock.

Similarly, the return service from Avramovo at 2:05 p.m., destined for Septemvri with an expected arrival at 4:51 p.m., has also been canceled. In both cases, BDZ will provide alternative transportation by bus for affected passengers.

The situation is compounded by additional cancellations in other regions. The passenger train traveling from Vratsa at 8:40 a.m. to Pleven at 10:47 a.m. has been canceled between Vratsa and Mezdra due to technical issues.

Passengers on this route are being redirected to other trains heading in the same direction. Likewise, the train departing from Sofia North at 6:00 a.m. and heading to Vratsa at 8:27 a.m. has been canceled between Mezdra and Vratsa for similar reasons, with passengers advised to use subsequent trains.

Delays have also affected several train services. Routes impacted include those traveling from Varna to Dobrich, Ruse to Varna, Varna to Sofia North, Burgas to Daskotna, and Dimitrovgrad to Gorna Oryahovitsa.

Passengers on these routes are advised to check for real-time updates and prepare for potential schedule changes.

The frequent service disruptions have led to growing dissatisfaction among passengers, who have expressed frustration with BDZ’s handling of the situation.

In response to the ongoing issues, BDZ has announced the introduction of new rolling stock to improve service reliability. Starting today, four newly delivered German wagons will be added to the fast train service from Sofia to Varna.

This train, departing from Sofia’s Central Station at 10:00 a.m., will now offer enhanced service capabilities. Another four German wagons will be incorporated into the fast train service from Varna to Sofia, departing at 9:25 a.m.

BDZ’s decision to add these new wagons aims to alleviate some of the current service challenges and enhance the overall passenger experience.

However, with ongoing issues affecting various routes, it remains to be seen how quickly and effectively these measures will address the disruptions.
