The District Prosecutor’s Office in Burgas has taken swift action, detaining the driver, identified as A.A., who is accused of violating road rules and negligently causing the fatal collision.

The March 9, 2024, incident shocked the local community as it unfolded on a busy road amidst evening traffic. A.A.’s vehicle reportedly entered a traffic jam, resulting in a collision with another vehicle carrying the victims.

According to official sources, the criminal act is being prosecuted under Article 343, paragraph 3, proposition 3, 6. “6”, proposition 1, paragraph 4, paragraph 4.1, b., “6” and b. “c”, in conjunction with Article 342, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 20, paragraph 1 of the Law on Road Traffic.

The investigation conducted by the authorities revealed that A.A.’s actions behind the wheel led to the tragic outcome, causing the death of a woman and moderate injuries to another woman and two children who were passengers in the vehicle.
