Vasil Angelov won first prize in the IV National Competition for “Graphics – Classical Techniques” – 2023. The Best Young Graphic Designer of the Year is a professor at the New Bulgarian University and is a prominent graphic designer part of the Print Nest graphic group.
Second and third prizes in the competition were awarded by the jury to young graphic designers Joanna Petrova and Elena Yankova from Sliven, and among the students won Mina Separevska, Vayana Avramova and Nikolay Mihailov, who study at the Ilia Petrov National School of Fine Arts in the capital and already have annual scholarships as a talent prize yes.
The International Exlibris Center in Sofia, with traffic jams- Chairman – Graphics Onnik Karanfilian, presented a special prize of 500 BGN. to the young artist Alexandra Atanasova from Sofia, who competed in the 19 to 39 category.
The National Competition for “Graphics – Classical Techniques” – 2023 has been held for the fourth time every two years since 2017 so far. This year, the authoritative jury determined the record number of 27 finalists whose works will traditionally be shown in the Sredets Gallery of the Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition will be open to the public until October 12, 2023. The winners of this year’s contest were announced at the exhibition’s opening last night.
Organizers of the competition are the Association “Culture, Sports and Health ML” and the Gallery “Grafikart” in the face of prominent Bulgarian graphic designer Lyudmil Georgiev, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Sredets Gallery.
