Plovdiv, Bulgaria: Botev Plovdiv, the Plovdiv-based football club, has recently announced Dushan Kerkez as the new senior coach. The specialist arrives at the Hristo Botev Stadium, where he was the last head of the Serbian Chukarichki.
He’s a highly experienced coach who began his managing career in 2014. He coached Cypriost sports club AEL Limassol youth team from 2014 to 2018 and was later given the responsibility of the first team from 2018 to 2021.
Then he coached Serbian Chukarichki for season 2022-23, and now he arrived at Hristo Botev stadium. Kerkez also played three years for his International team, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2004 to 06 and started coaching at AEL Limassol in 2014.
In 2015, Kerkez became the head of the Academy of Anorthosis. After a short period, he returned to AEL (Limassol) as a sports and technical director. In 2016, he was appointed senior coach of AEL (Limassol) up to 21 years old, and in 2018, he was the head of the first team of the “yellow-blue”.
With the Cyprus team, he won the Cyprus Cup in 2018-19 and managed to qualify the team in European club tournaments (Europa League qualifiers). In July 2022, Kerkez stands at the head of the Serbian Chukarichki. Captain of the Serbian squad, he records 49 matches, of which he wins 31, finishes equal seven times and concedes 11 defeats.
