Valencia, Spain: Stripes and balls final and 12th place in women’s ensemble all-around at the 40th World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Valencia.

Bulgaria’s ensemble remained without a medal in all-around at the 40th World Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Spanish city of Valencia. Still, Bulgaria won the title in the team ranking.

Jenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Camelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Radina Tomova could have done better in their five hoops composition. Vesela Dimitrova’s alums were evaluated with 28,600 points (15,800 for difficulty, 7,400 for artistry, and 6,000 for performance) and were left out of the finalists of five hoops.

In their second appearance on the carpet for the combination of three stripes and two balls, the Bulgarian women were unapologetic and received the first grade of 34,100 points (17.600, 8.350, 8.150).

The national team, who won last year’s champions in Sofia and won a quota for the Paris 2024 Games, will play in the final of ribbons and balls on Sunday.

In the final all-round standings, Bulgaria is in 12th position with a collection of 62,700 (28,600 and 34,100) points but in first place in the team standings with 330,150 points. In second place is Germany with 326,350 points, and Italy in third with 323,850 points.

So Bulgaria already has four distinctions from the championship in Valencia, after Boryana Kalain took silver medals at the bat and tape finals, and Styliana Nikolova is a bronze medalist in ball.

The Israel ensemble won the world title with 70,800 points – 38,150 for five hoops and 32,650 for ribbons and balls.
The Chinese team also performed very strongly in both compositions and topped the ranking with 70,050 points after the first stream, then took the silver.

The hosts from Spain, supported by their enthusiastic fans, have 68,600 points and claimed the bronze medals. Today, the World Championship in Valencia continues with women’s all-around with the participation of Boryana Kalain and Styliana Nikolova.
