Dryanovo, Bulgaria: The Dryanovo Municipality informed recently through its official Facebook account that tennis player David Simeonov has been elected to one of the strongest university teams in the United States.
The multiple medalists from state championships and court tennis tournaments – David Simeonov of Dryanovo, leaves on August 23 for the United States, where he will continue his education at the University of Indianapolis.
It will be part of one of the strongest college court tennis teams in the country, finishing regularly in the top 5 in recent years. He was chosen by coach Malik Thabet after playing against the best university racket at the moment and convinced the specialist in his skills.
Dryanovo’s talent will also be the only Bulgarian tennis player at the university, where competitors from multiple countries enter after a strict selection. Due to his good results in both sports and school, David will also receive a scholarship to cover 90% of his education costs.
David met with the Mayor of Dryanovo Municipality, Trifon Panchev, and the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Todor Georgiev, to thank them for their tremendous support.
The alumni of the Christy Tennis Club – Dryanovo also expressed his great gratitude to his longtime coach Ivaylo Iliev, with whom he began training at only six years old, to the director of PGI “Racho Stoyanov”, Mrs Maria Subeva, as well as to all the others who have been by his side over the years.
The Dryanovo Municipality wished David to be healthy, always diligent and fighting, and successful.
