Haskovo, Bulgaria: Haskovo Municipality informed through its social media account that yesterday, June 26, 2023, 45 children participated in the swimming competition organized with the collaboration of the Municipality of Haskovo and MKBPPMN.

The competition is part of the “Haskovo Against Drugs” campaign. Swimming, pool fun and cake were had for all participants, and the best swimmers in their respective categories received special honours.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and illegal trafficking is recognized annually on June 26. Various campaigns and awareness programmes rallies were conducted worldwide to spread awareness about the dangerous effects of drug addictions and prevent them so people can stay away from addictions and live healthy life.

The residents of Haskovo appreciated the efforts made by Municipality to spread awareness and organize swimming competitions to encourage the children to participate in sports activities. The organizers wished good luck to all children before beginning the competition.

For girls in the age group 8-13 years old, Simona Karaslavova won first place, Maraya Arnaudova came second, and third place was for Tanya Nikolaeva. For girls 14-18 years old, the first is Maria-Veselina Veleva, the second is Chanel Galib, and the third is Sulay Subasha.

The boys’ competition broadcasted the following winners. In the age group of 8-13 years, the fastest in swimming is Nikola Manolov, Dimitar Delchev is second, and Theodore Spilkov is in third place. Among the older boys 14-18 years old, the first is Martin Karabaliyev; the second is Serai Subasha, and the third place is Christian Kalekanov.

The traditional swimming competition is organized by the Municipality of Haskovo and the Local Committee for Combating Antisocial Manifestations of Minors and Minors. It is organized annually on the occasion of the International Day for Combating the Abuse and Trafficking of Drug Substances.
