Plovdiv, Bulgaria: Botev Plovdiv, the Bulgarian Football club, informed through its official Facebook account that Ian Cole is the new head conditioning coach of the men’s team of Botev (Plovdiv). The Scotsman arrived at the Canary Camp in Bansko and began active work with the team.

Cole will be in tandem with the current fitness coach Todor Georgiev. The Scottish specialist has already teamed up with senior coach Stanislav Genchev during their stay in Ludogorets.

Ian Cole was born on July 5, 1980, in Scotland. The conditioning coach has an impressive business card, having been part of the Scottish Grand Celtic for over seven years.

From 2009 to 2013, Cole was part of various Celtic youth formations. Since 2013, he has been involved with the Glasgow first team as part of the coaching staff of specialists such as Neil Lennon, Ronnie Dale and Brendan Rogers.

During this period, Celtic became four times champions, winning once the Scottish Cup, twice the Super Cup and participating twice in the Champions League and the Europa League group phases.

Since April 2018, he has been part of Ludogorets, spending three years on the Razgrad team. Following a 1-year stay in Kraiova, Kol was part of the Croatian Haiduk Split, where he spent a year and a half and won the country’s Cup twice.

The Canaries fans appreciated the decision made by Botev’s management to appoint Ion Cole as the new head coach. Some fans remarked that the club always needed a coach with such self-confidence as Cole.

Since Botev announced the arrival of the Scottish coach at Christo Botev stadium on its social media platform, numerous Botev fans shared their happiness and opinions in their comment section.

A Canaries fan wrote, “Very often in modern football, such additions are more important even than the footballers themselves, bravo”.
