Dryanovo, Bulgaria: Vyara Ilieva will be part of Bulgaria’s national team for the European Championship in Sports Orienteering. The excellent teammate of SKO “Bacho Kiro – 94” Dryanovo is now a part of the Bulgarian team (Women 18), which will represent the country at the European Orienteering Championship for Youth and Girls – EYOC 2023.
It will be held from June 22 to 25 in Velingrad. Along with the Bulgarian National team, various European countries are participating in the competition; over 400 people from all over Europe as well as countries outside the Old Continent, such as Australia, Israel and New Zealand.
The European Championship consists of three different disciplines over three racing days – sprint distance, long distance and relays. The first start is the sprint, which will be held on June 23. The race continues over a long distance on June 24 to finish with relays on June 25.
The racing groups are four, divided into gender and age – men up to 16 years old. , women up to 16 years old, men up to 18 years old, and women up to 18 years old. There are about 100 participants in each racing group. The Bulgarian national team will be represented by a total of 16 competitors and four in each competition group.
