Plovdiv, Bulgaria: Bulgarian football club Botev Plovdiv recently made a special announcement regarding the goalkeeper. The club extended the contract of goalkeeper Austrian Hidayet Hankic. The 28-year-old guard has signed a new 3-year contract with the “yellow blacks”.

Hidayet Hankic arrived in Botev in the summer of 2021. So far, the goalkeeper has 42 matches for the Canaries in the Premier League, as well as two games in European club tournaments.

He quickly became a favourite of the “yellow-black” fans. During this season, the guard reported a number of essential appearances in decisive matches for Plovdiv.

One of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League is distinguished by his quick reflex, concentration and goal security. The Austrian is relatively fast in preventing the opponent stickers from kicking the ball into nets, especially in the corners where the scoring possibilities are always high.

After signing the deal and officially declaring the extension of his contract, the Club Botev Plovdiv wished Hankic all the best from their official Facebook page and wrote, “We wish Hidayet Hankic many more dry nets and great appearances under the door frame, as well as to experience the real “yellow-black” emotion with European matches at the Hristo Botev Stadium”.

Hidayet Hankic, the Austrian-born professional footballer, was born at Schwarzach im Pongau, Austria, on June 29 1994- (current age 28). He began his career in Czech First League and played his first professional match for FK Mladá Boleslav on May 25 2014, in a match against AC Sparta Prague.

He left the Czech First League in 2019 and joined a Romanian club named FC Botoșani on July 2, 2019. After spending two years in Romania, he arrived at Plovdiv in 2021 and the most important deal of his career on July 19, 2021.

It’s almost three years since the arrival of Hankic at Hristo Botev stadium. It is confirmed that the Austrian with jersey number 13 is staying at the club until 2026.
