The duplicate team of Botev (Plovdiv) finished a draw 0:0 at their host of Danube (Ruse). The meeting of the 26th round of the Second League was played at “Botev 1912 Football Complex”.
The Yellow-Blacks started in a consecutive match with a young record lineup, and senior coach of the men’s team Bruno Baltazar sent Roy Herrmann to help the little botsies.
Both teams were looking for victory until the final referee signalled as a tie was not working for either team. The visitors lost two points in the elite fight while the bots remained in the danger zone.
The duel offered some clean goal positions. In the first part, the most pristine situation was in the 20th minute, when after a stir at the Danube’s gate, no one was able to shoot.
After the break, the guests hit the beams twice, and 2007-born Stefan Smerkalev intervened decisively twice, retaining a second consecutive dry net.
On their turn, the Botivists had two beautiful possibilities in the 80th minute. First, Konstantin Pavlov got out of the defence but failed to overcome the goalkeeper.
Literally seconds later, in an ideal situation, Stanislav Petkov was brought face to face with the guard, but his blow was saved too.
After the match, the club made a special announcement, remembering that this year, one of the active organizations in the yellow-black” family, Thrace Brigade, is celebrating 15 years since its establishment.
Yesterday, on the occasion of Good Friday, members, children and families of the Brigade bought and planted 42 trees around the Hristo Botev Stadium of the Yasen variety, which will contribute to an even more representative vision of the College in the urban environment. Each tree had a special plaque with the name of the Brigade child.
The “Plant a Tree – Create a Future” initiative is more than commendable.
