Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov shares a brief story that shows the benefits of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism, the NGO sector and real business.

He reported that Tourism Ministry organized a roadshow in Germany after the success in Poland. Over three hundred companies in six cities participated during the roadshow, and over 1200 meetings were held. 

Minister Dimitrov shared some important details about the event organized in Germany- 

  • In the period from 6 to 10 February, the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry and the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance, together with Aviareps Agency, held a series of bilateral business meetings between German and Bulgarian representatives of the tourism sector to strengthen and extend relations between the two countries and promote Bulgaria as a tourist destination.
  • The initiative started in Berlin and toured a total of six German cities, in t. h. Leipzig, Munich, Frankfurt on Main, Duisburg and Düsseldorf.
  • N took part in the opening. B.C. Elena Shekerletova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Germany.
  • The delegation of 15 tourism sector representatives – tour operators and hoteliers- is led by the tourism attache and representative of the Ministry of Tourism in Germany, Mr Tihomir Patarinski.
  • On the business side, cooperation is carried out with Dr Frank Kvante, EU President of the Alliance Bulgarian Black Sea and CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management A.D.
  • Bulgarian companies participating in this series of meetings held working talks with over 300 potential German partners.
  • Essential for a successful season is expanding the flight program and providing additional seats to Bulgaria.
  • At the moment, early bookings with individual tour operators have increased by up to 20% compared to the period a year earlier.
  • Press conferences were also held in Berlin and Munich with representatives of the tourism media, which presented the potential of Bulgaria as a tourist destination.
  • The meetings also discussed the possibilities of year-round tourism in Bulgaria, the connectivity between the two countries and potential development trends.
