A Ukrainian girl living in Bulgaria and working at a fast-food restaurant was featured in a video shared on social media by @MaimunkaNews.
She states that she fled to Bulgaria as a refugee from Russian aggression because many Ukrainian nationals had fled the country due to persistent Russian attacks on civilian areas. Her name or exact address was not stated in the video.

The immigrant girl reports that countless Bulgarian individuals have harassed her, which really makes her depressed. She explains that a group of Bulgarian nationalists once entered the restaurant and inquired about the girl, realising she was a foreigner as the girl struggled to understand the local language.
According to the girl, she respectfully informed them that she was originally from Ukraine but was currently residing in Bulgaria owing to ongoing issues in their country.
There is no conflict in Ukraine, the group of Bulgarians remarked. Why are you in this place? The girl turned around and politely walked away.
The same people mocked her on another day by carrying her music system and playing the Russian song Kalinka-Malinka. The girl claims that they were Bulgarians, not Russians.
On the third day, they went beyond the pale and played the Russian national anthem while telling the girl, “This was for you.” She observed that while it could seem amusing to some but was extremely sad for her.
The Ukrainian girl believes she is safe here in Bulgaria from the battle, but hearing the name Russia makes her feel like she is still in danger. She continued, “That’s not what I wanted to hear as I escaped from the country currently due to the Russian invasion.”
Considerable Ukrainian refugees sought safety in Bulgaria due to the escalating invasion. Instead of insulting or criticising them during their difficult times, the nation and its citizens must stand by them. Humanity should take priority over nationalism.
