For the second day in a row, road constructors have gathered in front of the official entrance to the National assembly. The protestors have been protesting since yesterday. They tented and held boards in their hands with signs saying ‘’we want Jobs in Bulgaria, not begging’’. This protest is going on against the lack of job facilities. Quotes such as ‘’No more lies! Adjustment now!
The protest that started on Wednesday started in the morning and lasted the entire day. The road junction in Stara Zagora, one on the Hemus Motorway and in Northeastern Bulgaria. As of now, it is said that traffic will be blocked in the National Assembly area for an hour from 10 AM to 11 AM.
The protest expanded from Haskovo to road Haskovo. The dissatisfaction of the protestor is igniting the feeling of hatred against the government, and the protestors are planning to continue their protest for as long as their demands aren’t accepted and fulfilled.
According to the sources, the strikers said they would continue with the strike until their demands were fulfilled and the government took the necessary measures to bring the sector back to its normal state. Their demand includes the immediate release of all the funds for wages in the industry and their quick update on how it is used to cover the ongoing inflation in the country.
Talking about the previous protest, the road construction companies from Plovdiv blocked the roundabout on Pazardzhik at the city’s exit as a protest sign. They said no clear commitments are visible for repairing and maintaining the roads.
On Tuesday, the BCC (Bulgarian National Agency )announced national protest actions with the Bulgarian Branch Chamber Roads in defence of the interests of the Bulgarian construction industry.
The protestors are outraged with all the uncertainties in the sector and demand accountability and financial support from the government.
