July, 1: Bulgarian Populist party GERB is not ready to conduct any kind of talk to support the government. Presses on the need for quick parliamentary elections.
GERB- SDS Bulgarian conservative party that ruled the country between 2009 and 2021, is denying every mandate to support the government of Petkov.
Kiril Petkov current Prime minister of Bulgaria who took the chair of prime minister in December 2021 is being highly criticised by the members of parliament.
Chairwoman of the parliamentary group Desislava Atanasova said to the press that it would be fitting to have the parliamentary elections as soon as possible. She refused to take count of any member of the triple coalition, including Petkov.
“For us, Kiril Petkov, Asen Vassilev, or anyone of the now triple coalition is persona non grata in this parliament,” Atanasova said bluntly.
Member of the Bulgarian national assembly Tomislav Donchev, said that the body could not form a stable government. If a government is formed after some support, it will be weak and will not be able to work efficiently, says Donchev.
Donchev also raise questions about the decisions made by Kiril Petkov and calls him an “inadequate person”.
“Tell me one thing that the current government has tackled and not caused the disaster in foreign or domestic policy”, asked the MP.
Earlier today, GERB leader Boyko Borisov showed his support to the We Continue The Change Party(WCC) on the matter of the Moscow note and ultimatum.
Bulgaria had decided to expel 70 Russian diplomats on June 28. Russia asked to revoke the law but Petkov said, we will not support anyone who will work against the interests of the government.
We should support the decision of the expulsion, he said, against the Russian ultimatum to withdraw the bill.
The support, however, was made in the most outrageous way, in complete violation of rights, procedures and laws.
