Bulgarian top govt officials to visit US from Feb 14-18; to meet energy industry leaders

Sofia, Bulgaria: High-level rank officials of the Bulgarian government, which includes Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov and other Bulgarian government officials and industry leaders, will be meeting the top-United States government officials, energy industry leaders, and members of organizations who are dedicated to boosting shared prosperity for the U.S. and Bulgaria.

Among the U.S. top government officials are U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa, the Deputy Prime Minister for E.U. Funds and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev. The meeting between the high-rank officials of both countries will take place from February 14-18, 2022.  

Ambassador Mustafa, speaking on the official trip, asserted, “The United States and Bulgaria are partnering to develop opportunities for Bulgaria to gain access to cutting edge technology and a diversity of energy resources“. 

Following the above statement, he furthermore added, “This trip underscores the Joe-Biden administration’s commitment to Europe’s energy security and sustainability and to accelerating the global transition to clean energy“.  

Initially, the Bulgarian delegation will arrive in Washington, D.C, for meetings with the senior officials from the White House and the U.S. Departments of State, Energy, and Commerce on concerning matters such as – energy security, renewable energy, and civil nuclear power generation.  

Afterwards, the delegation will move forward for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they will hold a meeting with Westinghouse representatives to discuss the diversification of Bulgaria’s nuclear fuel supply. Apart from this, during their visit to Carnegie Mellon University’s Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation, the Bulgarian officials will also be seen acquiring knowledge about the recent greening initiatives and energy technology taken by the United States government. 

Then the Bulgarian delegation will arrive in Texas. Here, they will have meetings with the power generation companies concentrated on renewable energy and liquified natural gas (LNG).  

Besides this, delegation members from the Bulgargaz, Bulgartransgaz, and Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant will also be seen participating in the meetings.
