Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced the launch of a new route connecting Sofia, Bulgaria, to Stuttgart, Germany, commencing December 16, 2024.
This new service, which will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, aims to enhance travel options between Bulgaria and one of Europe’s greenest cities.
Tickets for the Sofia-Stuttgart route are now available for purchase on Wizz Air’s website and mobile app, with prices starting at 65.99 leva.
This launch not only strengthens Wizz Air’s position in the Bulgarian market but also makes it the only low-cost carrier offering direct flights to Stuttgart.
Stuttgart, situated in a prominent wine-producing region, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, excellent cuisine, and historical significance.
The city is home to several popular attractions, including the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Museum, which showcases the history of one of the world’s leading automotive brands.
Additionally, visitors can explore the MHP-Arena, the home stadium of Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart, and enjoy the scenic beauty of local gardens and historic castles.
Sasha Vislaus, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “This addition reflects our commitment to improving connectivity and providing affordable, hassle-free travel for our passengers.”
Vislaus emphasized the increasing demand for travel between Bulgaria and Germany, underlining the importance of this new service in addressing that need.
The Sofia-Stuttgart route is expected to facilitate not only leisure travel but also business opportunities, connecting Bulgarian entrepreneurs with one of Germany’s key economic hubs.
Stuttgart’s vibrant economy, particularly in sectors such as automotive, engineering, and information technology, presents a wealth of opportunities for collaboration and trade.
The introduction of this route aligns with Wizz Air’s strategy to expand its network in Bulgaria and beyond, as the airline continues to respond to evolving travel demands.
With the ongoing recovery of the travel industry following the pandemic, Wizz Air is committed to offering affordable flights to a variety of destinations, making travel accessible to a broader audience.
In addition to enhancing travel options, the new route is expected to boost tourism in both Sofia and Stuttgart. As travelers flock to Stuttgart to experience its cultural offerings and natural beauty, local businesses in both cities stand to benefit from increased foot traffic.
Meanwhile, Bulgarians traveling to Stuttgart will have the opportunity to explore the city’s attractions, from its renowned wine festivals to its historic sites.
With the launch of the Sofia-Stuttgart route, Wizz Air is set to play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity and fostering closer ties between Bulgaria and Germany.
